Passover. In chapters 19 to 21 there is a long interpretation of the commandment against killing. This is followed by a long elaboration of the commandment against adultery. Obviously not all the laws found in Deuteronomy fit neatly under one or another of the Ten Commandments, but, as is patent from the text itself, the legal material in Deuteronomy is essentially a homiletical interpretation of the Mosaic Law. It was the job of the priests to interpret the Law, not just as a matter of jurisprudence
